WELCOME TO THE FOOTBALL AND REAL ALE GUIDE HOMEPAGE
LATEST UPDATE 6th September 2010
This website is aimed at people who like to find real ale pubs before and after league football matches. There was a guide that can be bought via the shop but from now the pages are all to be found here and you are welcome to print off pages as and when you wish.
FREE OFFER I want to get rid of the last of my stock of guides. If you send me £3 to cover postage and packaging, a set of the 2006 - 07 guides will be mailed to you.
I would like to enlist your help in updating the entries.
If you visit the pubs perhaps you might;-
1. Text or email the beers on offer when you visit. I will update them for those who might visit later in the season.
2. Recommend pubs for entry. You don't need to give full details but if you want to write a review then I will credit you on the site.
UPDATED FOR 2010 -11 SEASON. CLOSED PUBS HAVE BEEN REMOVED - see new page
IPSWICH and STEVENAGE UPDATED
LOCAL BREWERIES Over the next week each page will have one local, smallish independent brewery "TO LOOK OUT" when visiting each town. We support CAMRA's LOCALE campaign.
WETHERSPOONS I have been badgered to include the nearest of this chain to the ground. I give no guarantees as to whether they are any good but they are now included on each page.
Please let me know about your visits, even an update on the beers on tap will be of help.
COMBINED PAGES The pages for big cities are being combined so look out for combined North London, West London, Birmingham etc
PUBS NO LONGER RECOMMENDED This page shows those that have been closed or, for whatever reason, are not now recommended
CAMRA LINKS I have linked each page to the local CAMRA webpage
HOTEL PAGE The link above will take you to a website geared to finding accomodation near to Sports grounds. Each pub page will direct you to the appropriate town.
LINKS The latest new link is to a website that charts the travels of Mark Chatterton around the 92 grounds plus a little bit more. It is very new and can be seen here
